Nice to Meet you

From Field to Forest: My Path to Herbalism
Hello, and welcome.
I’m glad you’ve found your way here.

My name is Alla. My path with plants began quietly, long before I had words for it. As a child, I spent many days beside my grandfather, walking through fields and meadows, gathering wild plants for our animals. My grandmother knew the plants around us by heart — not as a subject to study, but as something to live with. From her, I learned to pay attention, to notice, and to trust what grows near us.

Those early moments shaped a deep sense of closeness to the natural world. For a long time, that connection simply lived within me. Only years later did I begin to consciously return to it — spending time foraging, learning the names and habits of plants, and slowly deepening my understanding through study and practice. But more than knowledge, what continued to draw me in was presence: the feeling of being grounded, attentive, and quietly accompanied by the living world.

What moves me most about working with herbs is not what they do, but how they invite us to slow down and remember something ancient. A way of being with the earth that doesn’t rush, explain, or demand. Through simple acts — walking, gathering, washing, brewing — we reconnect with rhythms that have always been there.

This space is not meant to teach or persuade. It is a place where I share observations, reflections, and moments from this ongoing path of listening to plants. Sometimes, this way of living gives rise to simple creations — soaps, flower waters, herbal preparations — made slowly and with care. They are not promises or remedies, but quiet expressions of time spent in attention and respect.

You are welcome to wander these pages in your own way.
To read, to pause, or simply to rest for a moment.
Thank you for being here.
May this space offer you a gentle sense of connection — to the earth, to stillness, and to what quietly grows.

With gratitude,
Alla
